Need Proof of Overbilling? Just Look at What Your Attorney Admits to

July 12, 2012

A 2007 survey done by noted professor and billing ethics expert William G. Ross, revealed that 67% of the responding lawyers had “specific knowledge” of bill padding.  Further, 55% of those lawyers admitted that they themselves had performed unnecessary tasks just to bump up their billable output.

I’d wager the farm that those numbers are low, but even if accepted at face-value, they prove that you are more-likely-than-not being significantly overbilled by your attorney.
